What are your values on Sustainability?
We aim to be as sustainable and responsible as possible with our materials and styles. Along with being as eco-friendly as possible with our packaging. We are always open to and looking for the best ways to improve on our sustainability goals, to move forward with this and keep learning about how to become more sustainable along the way. All our styles are designed with sustainable fabrics, however, as we learn more about sustainability the fabrics may develop and therefore our material choices may change.
Sustainable and eco-friendly materials include:
Organic Cotton:
Organic cotton is a natural fibre, being grown with few chemicals or fertilizers. Using 62% less energy and 88% less water than conventional cotton, its one of the most sustainable materials out there.
Bamboo:
Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on the planet. When its harvested, the plant does not have to be cut from the root, and therefore can regrow very quickly. It is classed as a ‘carbon negative raw material’ as it absorbs a higher Co2 percentage from the air and survives on rainfall alone. The bamboo material we use is organic, meaning it has not been chemically tampered with.
Lyocell:
Lyocell is produced from the pulp of eucalyptus trees that do not require a lot of water to grow. It also requires less water than other fabrics when being manufactured, as over 99% of dissolving agents can be reused.
Recycled Polyester:
Recycled polyester is very versatile. It can be used for many different styles of clothing. Whilst recycling this material stops the original polyester ending up in oceans and landfills, it is advised to use a microplastic filter bag when washing garments made from this material, as it can still release microplastics. But still, a lot better choice for sustainability.
TENCELTM:
TENCELTM has become a well-known sustainable fabric. It is made from managed eucalyptus plantations and has a small percentage of elastane for better recovery.
Ethically made clothing:
Ethically made right here in London, our small manufacturer is certified with the fair wage certification and ethical working standards. They are also covered by The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and Organic Content Standard (OCS) certificate.
